LES SORCIERS DU THEIL CS
The first musical reunion of the congregation of sorcerers happened in summer 2013 at Studio Chaudelande. At this time they were four and they decided to perform their rites with rock instruments. The result is 6 improvised tracks with guitar, bass, synth, drums and a few overdubs to refine the recipe. This repetitive psychedelic music is not too far from the German 70′s bands, the actual psych scene and other interstellar music. Expect lots of obsessive rhythms sharing energy and pulling the mind out of the body. The inspiration of the quartet is taken from their native land, especially in trees and sea, and of course parallel forces… Pro dubbed tape CS 30. Press 70 copies. Available on July 21th.

ALESSANDRO CORTINI – ‘Sonno’ 2LP
Alessandro Cortini is best known as the lead electronics performer in Nine Inch Nails’ live unit. His recordings under his own name have gained prominence in recent years and he has become known as one of the pre-eminent Buchla masters in North America. Cortini makes a surprising departure into the 202 on his debut album for Hospital Productions – ‘Sonno’. ‘Sonno’ was recorded in hotel rooms, using a Roland MC 202 through a delay pedal, recorded direct, sometimes into a small portable speaker system. “I liked to walk around the room with a handheld recorder to hear where the sequence would sound better, turn on faucets, open doors or windows to see how the ambient sounds would interact with the MC 202/delay/speaker sound. It was very relaxing and liberating to make music this way…” The result is a beautifully restrained yet oddly emotive album that’s quite distinct from the overly academic approach so often undertaken by hardware driven devotees. coming on 2xlp gatefold / cd / digital.

Geoff – ‘Ideomotorfinger’
Unique releases available now from Teflon Beast in the form of two surreal, comedy ebooks. The first is titled Ideomotorfinger and the work is a collection of short prose pieces ostensibly written by/compiled by different members of a group of close associates, both as personal memoirs and fictional tales explaining their times together and apart. The main voices in the book belong to Franklin Randall Marsh, Famine McCoy, Cornelius McCoy, Dugan Jinx, and Veronica Disco (aka Mrs. McCoy). Each individual is a writer and a character in each part of the narrative. There isn’t an end to this story either. Since every section is told from different (sometimes multiple) perspectives, the events are infinite. By the end of the book characters are using previously written texts to explain themselves. 82 pages.

Village Of Spaces – ‘Welcome In’ LP
In our house the music of Dan Beckman and Amy Moon is always cause for celebration, their albums have possibly logged more hours on our turntable than those of any other living group. Their newest album “Welcome In” delivers exactly what the name purports, an all inviting and inclusive experience that begs to spin late into the night and to greet you first thing in the morning. V.O.S are Constant purveyors of music reflecting life, reflecting music, reflecting life, “welcome in” plays out exuding the time and spirit that it comes from. Each song feels as if it was lived in, before being etched in stone. At times you can feel the kids sleeping in the soft lullaby like quality of the vocals (welcome in, big blue, the wheel), at others it plods along making a bed for each foot to fall safely, threading and weaving with all that makes up a day (ancestral oak, treading lifting, precious load). Never failing to strike a balance between the timeless (river of time), and the sound collage of youth (5am birds, and beginning). “Welcome In” is the story of where we have been and where we are going, of what we are and what we hope to be. This is folk music in every sense of the word. In many ways this album is the sum of everything Amy and Dan have recorded up to this point. For those that are unfamiliar with their music “Welcome In” may be the best place to start in their amazing cannon. HEROIN IN TAHITI – ‘Canicola’ C38

Raw experiment in “neorealist psychedelia” by spaghetti-wasters *Heroin In Tahiti*from *Rome*, “*Canicola*” is dedicated to the sun, the obsessive superstitions and the golden yellow grain of Italy as portrayed by anthropologist* Ernesto De Martino *in legendary essays such as “South and Magic” and “The Land of Remorse”. Side *A* is a long, hallucinatory track which evokes the tyrannic heath and the mourning chants of a Mediterranean summer among ruins, olive trees and abandoned churches. Side B is composed by five short tracks which heavily rely on Italian folklore and include samples of *Alan Lomax* and *Diego Carpitella*’s field recordings in Southern Italy during the 50s. A cassette-only release, “Canicola” makes you SWEAT. One of the most intriguing and freaked out things Heroin In Tahiti made so far: for fans of Sun City Girls, Italian Occult Psychedelia, Savage Republic… and Heroin In Tahiti, of course.

BIG BLOOD – ‘Unlikely Mothers’ 2LP
Brand new double LP from the duo of Caleb Mulkerin and Colleen Kinsella, who also play in Cerberus Shoal and Fire On Fire. The duo also performed on Michael Gira’s Swans LP, The Seer in 2012. Based out of Portland, Maine, Big Blood has dropped a ton of stunning self released CDs and cassettes since 2006 as well as some fantastic vinyl releases for Time-Lag, Feeding Tube, Phase and Immune. Big Blood’s sound is rooted in folk and prime 60s / 70s garage pscyh. This new double LP sees them focus more the electric side of things than on some previous releases with the addition of drummer, Shon. The record was recorded after Colleen spent a lot of time listening to Sabbath, Zepp and Dead Moon, so it definitely has a heavier vibe than some of their past releases. The gatefold sleeve features artwork by Colleen, ‘Unlikely Mothers’ refers to Colleen’s mother (pictured on the inside) and Colleen’s aunt (pictured on the outside), both were nuns. Her aunt stayed a nun and colleen’s mom left (obviously) during Vatican II. The two images for the sleeve are from an ongoing series about women who buck common notions of who are the mothers in our lives. Pressed on 180 gram virgin vinyl, 150 copies pressed on opaque red and white swirl, and 250 on transparent red. Includes download code.

ANDREW LILES – ‘The Maleficent Monster and Other Macabre Stories’ LP
Massively prolific UK artist, and Nurse With Wound and Current 93 member, Andrew Liles returns to Blackest Rainbow. This new full length LP consists of themes, incidental music, bridging songs, interludes, creaks and groans created as imaginary soundtracks for imaginary horror films. 40 minutes of musical interpretations on a ‘horrific’ theme influenced by such maestros as Donald Rubinstein, John Carpenter, Fabio Frizzi and Ennio Morricone. The tracks cover a vast amount of ground including austere orchestral pieces, voodoo drums, torture porn, possession, cheesy 80′s soundtracks, Giallo, 70′s synths, mellotrons, flutes, piano and much much more. Andrew also commissioned legendary UK artist and graphic designer Graham Humphreys, the man behind the incredible original UK quad posters for Evil Dead II and the Nightmare On Elm Street series. Graham has recently worked with Death Waltz for their Zombie Flesh Eaters and their impending City Of The Living Dead reissue. The LP is released strictly old school style, no digital download, in an edition of 500 in UV gloss finished sleeve, and pressed on 180 gram vinyl. It will be pressed on two colours. Edition of 150, 180 gram black glove and silver blade swirl vinyl, exclusively available from Blackest Rainbow and Andrew Liles.
