various – ‘Smashed 40: Slummer Jams‘ 2CS
Screen shot 2013-02-18 at 6.41.38 PMIt’s no secret that people judge you based on what kind of music you like and more than likely there is a band or performer who you like that you don’t feel comfortable admitting without first giving a disclaimer like: “guilty pleasure”. Music that too many people like isn’t cool to listen to. We might be missing something but we fail to see the logic in that. Music should be something you enjoy, not something you’re ashamed of. Furthermore, it’s undeniable that “main stream” music has influenced musicians of all styles in one form or another. So we decided to ask some of our favorite artists to record their take on the “main stream” and what we got was an epic collection of songs that are both eclectic and absurd. This compilation contains 40 artists doing their interpretations of Top 40 hits, clocking in at nearly two and a half hours in length. The artists on this compilation are (alphabetically): Alvarius B., American Gil, Amps For Christ, Anni Rossi, Brother Mitya feat. Alak, Brother Twin, Captain Ahab, Carla Bozulich and Former Ghosts, Charlie Mcalister, Clark 8, Dennis Callaci, Dino Dimuro feat. Elizabeth Dimuro, Edward Gray, Emily Lacy, Ezra Buchla, The Finches, Gulliver, Hermit Convention, I.E., John Thill, Key Losers, Knight Rider, Lonnie Methe, Marmits, Nicole Kidman, Pregnant, R.
