FREDDY RUPPERT – ‘DOVE HOUNDS (AMERICAN TRAGEDIES)’ CS
This is the first solo record by Freddy Ruppert and it serves as a prefect melding of his harsher and more abrasive work with This Song Is A Mess But So Am I, and his more pop driven work in Former Ghosts. He also experiments with minimalism, something you see more prevalently in his later solo work. Dove Hounds (American Tragedies) is beautifully troubling and nothing short of a flawless record. Released in an edition of 100 pro-dubbed and imprinted cassettes housed in letter pressed covers printed by Moon In June Press. Includes a digital download card.

Randy Gibson – ‘The First Pillar Appearing In Supernova’ $10
The two sides of The First Pillar Appearing in Supernova could be considered as opposing explorations of the simplest section of my ongoing work, Apparitions Of The Four Pillars. When approached by Cassauna to make this cassette, I knew I wanted to use the mechanism of the cassette to create the work. As with my previous work for cassette, Analog Apparitions on The Tapeworm, the sound of the cassette is integral. Cassettes of individual vocal drones were recorded onto a Marantz PMD222. Using the volume and speed capabilities of the Marantz, I worked with a single line at a time to create a dense harmonic world from a simple intervallic source.

Zachary James Watkins – ‘Moveable’ $10
Movable is scored for pianoforte in a unique just intonation/equal temperament hybrid tuning and employs a new mechanical extension we like to call the Piano Monster built by NYC artist Ranjit Bhatnagar that uses 16 voltage controlled motors with attached objects that resonate piano strings.

BLACK UNICORN – ‘TRACED LANDSCAPES’ $6
Traced Landscapes is the law of correspondence seen from the rear view mirror of a departing space shuttle. A record of the parallel grown between macroscopic and microscopic in the basic urge for pattern, order, and meaning. Or like a thin sheet of paper — the copied blueprints of grand and unfathomable designs. These tracks are alien artifacts unearthed in parched deserts, planets orbiting like electrons, scale a relative term in washes of synthesized serendipity and filtered waves crashing upon shores of conscious reflection. The revelation is akin to the experience of Oedipa Maas in Pynchon’s The Crying of Lot 49 as she senses the strange connection between city and circuit, “…she thought of the time she’d opened a transistor radio to replace a battery and seen her first printed circuit. The ordered swirl of houses and streets, from this high angle, sprang at her now with the same unexpected, astonishing clarity as the circuit card had . . . there were to both outward patterns a hieroglyphic sense of concealed meaning, of an intent to communicate.” Please enjoy the ride.

Junior Pande – ‘The Red Tape’
As passionate about his music as he is about the presentation of it, Justin Peroff offers up his 4th release on Spring Break Tapes with a super limited edition cassette personally handcrafted & numbered. The Red Tape comes in a recycled cardboard o-card sleeve with individual photographs taken by Peroff — printed, cut & placed on each side of each package. In this way, every cassette is itself unique in design as no two feature the same photographs. Sticking with the DIY strategy, The Red Tape is accompanied by a zine featuring photographs by Peroff. CLEAR FLUIDS – ‘After Dark’ VHS/C28/7″ lathe
Deep synth wash and sexual pulse, erotic science fiction magic for modern mankind. After nearly two years in the works, we are happy to finally unleash this new music video EP. Grainy cathode ray transmissions, kaleidoscopic aerobics programs, camcorder spelunking, B-flick midnight movies, and romantic pantyhose commercials, chewed and spat in psychedelic throbbing mass. 23 copies are the standard edition, which includes a kush green VHS (NTSC) with mauve & white spine and face labels and retro melt warning, packaged in large black clamshell with full color cardstock insert. BURIAL GROUND – ‘Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things’ 8-track
Brilliant new massive transmission of hellish wall noise from Burial Ground. Brutal analog stasis of the highest order, deep static attack in honor of the cult classic film “Children Shouldn’t Play WIth Dead Things”. Over an hour of roar and crumble makes for heavy time, not for fans of music. Real time duplicated eight track cartridge comes with full color wrap-a-round labels, made in a hand numbered edition of 22. These eight-tracks have been produced using recycled stock, but only the very best cartridges have been used for this project. GERMAN ARMY – ‘Millerite Masai’ c45
From the dehydrated and dilapidated outskirts of San Bernardino County, German Army releases its latest sonic document, “Millerite Masai.” This exceptionally rhythmic-heavy release constructs itself with a wide palette of percussive timbres and abrasive drones. It’s from these foundations that the group extends its explorative nature toward new sounds and textures. “Millerite Masai” sees the deeply modulated vocals of Peter Kris replaced with found audio of disembodied voices and dialogs unknown. This departure from a lead vocal source provides listener’s with a particular focus on the construction, abstraction and destruction of the given motifs within each track. Most songs here seem to pull their primary melodies from modes that could be found in eastern end of the world, and considering this release comes courtesy of Yerevan Tapes, this Eurasian influence might be more than just coincidence. In fact, it might point to some of the inspiration for the heavy soundscapes that range from the desolate and deserted to the thriving and intense – perhaps pulling from the various landscapes of the Caucus. Comes on jelly red tape with with photographic insert and artwork by S. Anhayt. A limited edition of 100.
