Sound of Cobra

Orfando – ‘Iter’ CD
This time we are talking of ORFANADO, a great duo form north Italy. The two musicians come from interesting bands as IN ZAIRE, LAGO MORTO, GIJOE, LETTERA 22 and as Orfanado they are releasing their second album, after the first on Troglosound. The sound of the band is an incredible mix of psychedelia, folk, and prog played with acoustic guitars, sitar, wind instruments, percussions and processed voices.

Deep Tapes

Heat Wave – ‘Hennessy & Chronic’ CD
Heat Wavecant come in m’door unless you in yo g-string bikini…. originally a mixtape for rose quartz…..under his other guise as Heat Wave – that philosophy is ramped up and it sounds pretty fantastic, really? Disembodied fragments of hip-hop and classic rock warp & blend into “found sounds”; screwed up, unrecognisable fragments of speech spiral in; choppy beats dissect the melodic passages in a way that’s disorienting but so fascinating. The greatest achievement is that this feels like a whole new work of art but you can still nod your fucking head to it.

Rusted Rail & Slow Loris

The Driftwood Manor – ‘The Same Figure (Leaving)’ CD
Rusted Rail and Slow Loris are proud to announce the release of “The Same Figure (Leaving)” by Irish avant-folk project The Driftwood Manor. Recorded between October 2008 and May of 2009, The album took in a considerable cast of long-time collaborators, with Driftwood Manor lynchpin Eddie Keenan working closely with friends from across the spectrum of the Irish folk and underground scene. United Bible Studies students Gavin Prior, David Colohan and Vicky Langan all added their talents with Prior in particular working closely with Keenan and co-Producer Steve Fanagan to help shape the sound of the album. Initially released as a limited edition cdr on French label Ruralfaune in March of 2010, The Driftwood Manor have crafted their own brand of warm and earthy music which weaves strands of apocalyptic appalachia, psychedelic folk and Irish trad into a rich sonic tapestry. This CD is housed in a hand-assembled and hand-stamped recycled card sleeve.
