From Brian Miller and Deathbomb Arc:"The noiseforobama.org site got started after Brian Chippendale and I coincidentally changed both our music myspace pages into Barack Obama campaign pages right after the DNC. You can see this at http://www.myspace.com/theblackpus and http://myspace.com/deathbomb We were both concerned that a lot of people, both audiences and artists, in the noise/underground music community don't vote and may not have considered what an important election year this is. So I started writing to other noise rockers and found that there are others that feel as strongly about Obama as we do. So I asked everyone (No Age, Deerhoof, Friends Forever, etc) to send in statements to add to Brian and my own. The site also invites anyone else that supports Obama and is a part of the underground music/art community to send in statements that we'll add.
In addition to the site, we are also donating money from sales of the new Black Pus/Foot Village split 12" that comes out on Oct 14th. Presale for it is HERE; the record also comes with a full color, 16" x 22" poster of art by Brian Chippendale. So people will get lots of crazy music, crazy art, and be making a donation."

V/A - 'The Stormer' C90 $6edition of 150 ((50 of them are going to Ulex and all the bands)). "What began as a simple attempt to pay tribute to an underrated hero of nasty noise, Streicher (1990's Australian PE artist Ulex Xane and his excellent label Zero Cabal), this compilation quickly turned into something all it's own. Ninety minutes of mind-numbing Industrial deconstructions and crude Power Electronics all poured together in psychotic reverence for this long lost electric reflection of horror and raw human experience. DESTROI!"

Harsh Judgment C20 $6
edition of 55. "In the oily basement hazards of Wisconsin stalks Harsh Judgment. One man of a criminal mind. After nearly 3 years of live brutality within the local scene, this depraved Power Electronics finally showcases his frustrated mental illness on record, violently acting out between bursts of horrific analog noise. Both sides begin in maliciously ugly PE and end in total rough end zone vacant violence. We are thrilled to offer up the first of this project, after several years of witnessing his personal catharsis through live performances, this tape is the first time Harsh Judgment was captured accurately enough to offer it up to all you folks that need to have a bad time."

Heart Heart Julia - 'Soundtrack for Anthropologie' $7
"An album with two 30-minute guitar solos bearing resemblance to the style of Thurston Moore. The first track “after the rain” is a reworking of Nelson’s classic hit, and auditory interpretation of the music video. The second track “An Urban Outfitter” captures the essence of what it means to be an outfitter in the urban scene of Boston, Massachusetts, complete with two radios intertwining and mingling with the electric guitar. We are left with typical hip-hop, dunkin donuts, and the Red Sox, a true Boston experience. The album has been submitted to be played in Anthropologie stores nationwide." Artwork was designed and developed by the Annapolis Chosen. Limited copies have been produced in collector’s boxes. HERE5 Sep 08

8mm 030: Paul Flaherty & Weasel Walter - 'Particles' 12" €15
"Imagine the moment before the origin of the Universe, when nothing yet existed. According to the standard theory, our universe sprang into existence as 'singularity', a zone of infinite density, which is also what is thought to exist at the core of the 'black hole'. The result of its expansion is what we call the 'Universe' and it is also what this album is all about. The gate was opened one night in May, in a basement of Northampton, Ma. by Paul Flaherty on saxophone and Weasel Walter on drums and percussions. 'Particles' sounded to me exactly like the Big Bang of music. An origin, a passage of energy that you can feel, not only listen. There is a shiverig tension throughout the whole album, as if everything was ready to collapse from one moment to another. Of course there is no real explosion, but a sense of constant vibration that has his apex on the final cut, with Flaherty and Walter joined by the incredible voice of Laila Maria Salins. Then, silence and back into the darkness. As someone said that night: Music is the key. We couldn't agree more." 140 grams vynil, first press of 157 numbered copies. Silkscreened. 8mm 029: Stefano Pilia - 'Last Days' One-Sided 12" €12
8mm 031: Maths Balance Volumes/Sejayno split cassette €5
"Following the tradition of great basement recordings on 8mm, Minnesota's Maths Balance Volumes and Baltimore's Sejayno share the tape for this nicely packaged split cassette. Six shots full of mysterious vibes and smoked abstract atmospheres are provided by MBV, while side B is one long suite for handmade instruments, percussions, voices and god-only-knows-what-else, from the fenomenal project of Peter/Ciat Lonbarde, Severiano Martinez and C Garhart. Both bands are incredibiley inspiring on this album. Very good for the spirit as well. A great surprise." 120 copies. Numbered.8mm 028: Gang Wizard, Vluba, Golden Cup, Ducktails split cassette €5
"aka: Friends from all over the world united. Side A opens with three new enchanting songs from Matthew Mondanile's Ducktails, Argentina's Vluba provide smoke and sulphur to the same side. Gang Wizard's piece is called 'the Shed' and it's pure claustrophobia melted on a tape, while Golden Cup and Pumice's contribution is a romantic piece recorded live in Rome, and mixed in their private houses in Italy and New Zealand throughout summer 2008. 4 bands, 3 continents, 2 sides, 1 spirit!" 100 copies. DIGI049: Valerio Cosi - 'Heavy Electronic Pacific Rock' CD $12/CD+CDR $17"Valerio Cosi may be young at only 22, but his talent is undeniable. He may be mostly known for his exquisite saxophone playing, but this Italian wunderkind doesn’t stop there. Cosi composes strings of magic using all sorts of instrumentation and production tricks. "Heavy Electronic Pacific Rock" marks the first CD release in Cosi’s ever-expanding discography, and he saved the best for this, his most widely-available release to date. This is Valerio Cosi at his peak as a performer, young as he is. "Heavy Electronic Pacific Rock" is his finest hour, his opus." Limited to 500 copies.
DIGI052: Uton - 'We're Only In It For the Spirit' CD $12/CD+CDR $17
"For the past five plus years, Uton has been one of the most consistent projects to come out of the snowy confines of his native Finland. His output has been constant, but the quality is always great. His drones have always been underscored with a sense of melody and a keen utilization of the space where the music was created. These songs are not icy or glacial, though, like one might think. Uton’s uncanny ability to inject an inviting sense of warmth and spirit. "We’re Only in it for the Spirit" is ghost music; barely there and out-of-sight in the blink of an eye." Limited to 500 copies with artwork designed by James Livingston of Black Horizons.
DIGI053: Ensemble Economique - 'At the Foot of Nameless Roads' CD $12/CD+CDR $17
"By now, just about everyone is familiar with the mighty Starving Weirdos and their otherworldly junkyard drones. Last year the world was introduced to another band of mystics from the Weirdos camp called RV Paintings. One of the constant threads from both of those bands is the inimitable Brian Pyle. Ensemble Economique is Pyle’s debut foray into the solo forest. "At the Foot of Nameless Roads" is a masterpiece of an album, filled to the brim with cacophonous melodies, meditative auditory chants, & hypnotic shambolic rhythms. If you love the Weirdos, you will be all over this." Limited to 500 copies. Artwork by Tarentel's Jefre Cantu-Ledesma.

LOOSERS/OWL XOUNDS 7" (RTB#39)"Loosers from Portugal continues with their psychedelic free noise jams after releases on labels such as Qbico, Ruby Red, Meudiademorte and Woodsist. A quiet and subtle guitar-driven piece, feels like a slooow and hot Sunday afternoon. The flipside has more crude and dirty out there jazz madness from Brooklyn's Owl Xounds Exploding Galaxy, featuring Adam from Holy Mountains La Otracina." 420 copies, all on black vinyl.
ÄTTESTUPA LP (RTB#45)
"There is a myth that elders in the old Sweden was thrown down from a big mountain or height when they no longer was for any use in the farms and households. This place was called Ättestupa. And that is the name of a new band from Gothenburg. Dealing with an old era of Sweden, this is music that reeks of plague, desolate countrysides, heathen rituals and long, harsh cold winters. The debut album is a journey back to a forgotten world, an anti-urban masterpiece. With members from Leafes and Sewer Election, it would be easy to call Ättestupa off as an mix of those two acts when it comes to the sound, but there is definitely way more to it than that. With traces of dark folkmusic, 70's German prog and even some small black metal hints, this is mean-spirited stuff with an truly unique atmosphere. Slow and monotonous percussion, deeply buried vocals, crude electronics and droning guitars, tortured synths and flutes... Extremely lo-fi and extremely bleak. Two tracks ('Tjälen' and 'Den Stora Sjukdomen') and a playtime of 40 minutes." 330 copies, all on black vinyl. 3 12" sized inserts included with each LP.

"Second edition (of only 100 copies), this time with the intended title that got mixed up in the email landscape for the original edition... one of the most awesome releases I think we've put out, and received super, super well. If you don't already own this, its highly recommended... Here's what I said about it first time round: Christina Carter plays in the incredible Charalambides out of Texas, USA. Over the past couple of years Christina has be releasing of some of the best stuff I have heard, not only in Charalambides, but solo... Electrice, Lace Heart, The Light is Out all blew me away, so I am really pleased to be announcing this one! Two sides of 'tracks recorded in the spring, but meant for summer'. 6 supremely beautiful and effortless elegant tracks across two sides of awesome vocal and guitar, landing in at about 50 minutes... there is a similar kind of vibe to that of Electrice or Lace Heart maybe. GOLIATH BIRD EATER/SASQROTCH 10" (NNF128)"a particularly schizophrenic split documenting the extremes of LA's basement metal multiverse. GBE showcase how to use one chord and 4 minutes of electric power soloing to reawaken a volcano, while east side cruisers SASQROTCH use metal as an excuse to wear weird masks and stumble lurching slabs of feedback into the faces of disbelieving wastoids. eventually a riff crawls outta the dumpster, but it's too dirty to fix what's broken. great stuff. expect more from these 2, always."

Plankton Wat — 'Crystal Wizard' (Stunned no. 13) $6
"Having been dazzled by his Alchemy of Darkness cassette out earlier this year on DNT, then watching him fry it sky-hi in Eternal Tapestry & Bloodbiker, we at Stunned had no choice but to get ahold of Dewey Mahood and see if there was any more psych wizardry to share with us. Turns out there was, and in Portland's Owl House studio Crystal Wizard was born. Here, syrup dipped 4-track guitar delights are fingerpicked into existence simple-like. No need to rush in something so damn noble and zen-field spare. Gradually, drums and bells adorn the pieces which funnel to greater layers of complexity, until all becomes a swirl of beckoning light and void." Until moments ago confusing the cassette buried on my shelf with the Shawn Reed project Wet Hair, it’s quickly made sense why the pair of side-long tracks on the ‘Chimeric’ C20 show no signs of the garage punk from which the Night Person so vitally sustains. Indeed, Wet Fur is found on a very different creature – Reed Evan Rosenberg - one who quite literally begins where the other leaves off: leaping entirely into the noise realm (yes, hardly a pioneering venture at this point) sans a traditional musical jump-off of any sort, Rosenberg breaks for the busted oscillations of Rehberg and Menche in full, high-definition production. Scrapes and friction begin the first side with a constant circadian, cicadean chirp which, while in its initial moments approaches abrasive peaks, wears into a comfortable groove quite soon, dulling itself into a bassy hum which welcomes a new searing pitch in the thinned ether. The brutal suspension of this final note is broken by the chunky whir of the second side, a detuning apparatus over a motoric growl; the dread is compounding, changing subtly; then the signal is broken with rough-shod editing, leaving only crackles and a dry breath of stuffy air, in time recollected in a new, channel-skipping oscillation of fresh timbres to complete the loop. I'd say it's time for a long-player. Hand-painted tapes come in colorful, heavy stock J-card. Limited to 100 copies. (Obsolete Units cassette, $6 HERE) 27 Aug 08
